Twenty-Twenty-Tooth: The Year of The Vampire
A list of vampiric happenings in culture in 2022.
- Dracula Daily substack mailing list takes off, with both days of the week and full moons in synch
- Morbius: The Living Vampire sweeps the nation, becoming a 2-time box office flop winner after re-releasing following a wave of memes satirically claiming the movie was the highest rated and most popular film to ever be made. A gif is made which shows the entire movie sped up significantly, and then another gif is made that is, allegedly, just straight up the entire film in real time (i haven't watched past the opening logo because i don't care).
- Dimension 20's Coffin Run, a Dracula-inspired vampiric tale, is the D&D gameplay show network's newest campaign.
- Interview With the Vampire, the 1976 novel by Anne Rice and 1994 film dir. Neil Jordan, gets a TV adaptation, releasing October 2nd.
- My friend is going to a Halloween horror movie marathon and the theme this year is vampires.
- The Shrieking Shack podcast returns to read Twilight after their year-ish hiatus following their finishing the 7th harry potter book at exactly 150 episodes.
- Robert Pattinson, best known for his work as the vampire Edward in the Twilight films, stars in The Batman (2022)
- I, personally, am inspired by the oodles of What We Do In The Shadows Season 4 content on my dashboard (because everyone has apparently chosen this year, the Year of the Vampire, to get into it) to watch the film What We Do In The Shadows (2014).
